The Marblehead Arts Association is proud to present four new exhibits in the galleries of its historic 1728 King Hooper Mansion. These exhibits will run from Sept. 30 to Nov. 5, and an opening reception was held on Oct. 1.
As one of the few art associations that recognizes photography as an artistic medium, the Marblehead Arts Association proudly presents an exhibit of the photography work of its juried Photography Artist members each fall. The Annual Member Photography Exhibit is guaranteed to have something for everyone as MAA Photography Artist members illustrate their skill and creativity in this exciting artistic medium.
Curated by the Marblehead Arts Association’s Youth Art Council, “Fresh” is an exhibit showcasing the vibrant artwork of young, emerging artists. The theme “Fresh” serves as a blank canvas, allowing these emerging artists to explore, interpret, and reimagine it in their unique and unexpected ways.
“OBJET” by Richard Ventre is a series of composite photographic images in a satirical exposé of objectification. The woman and the object, considered equally as objects of desire.
Beginning in 2019, this series was first staged in straightforward satire, moved into the realm of the absurd, and then to being just plain silly. A moment to laugh, and a reason to express an appropriate degree of exasperation at something that is still so culturally accepted.
The New England Sculpture Association Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit invites visitors to take a stroll through the King Hooper Mansion’s Garden and view a selection of beautiful sculptures crafted by several talented members of the New England Sculpture Association.
