Marblehead Arts Association (MAA) will be back in action this Saturday with some new galleries opening up on March 1 and an opening reception on March 2 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Executive Director Xhazzie Kindle said, “We’re just so looking forward to welcoming everyone back.”
She said MAA is typically open year-round, but being closed for the last two months allowed MAA to do some “much-needed renovations,” like installing a new bathroom and fixing up the heating system.
The six new galleries opening up on March 1 range from Elise Zhang’s exhibit “Art as the Pulse of Economics” to Linda Lea Bertrand’s exhibit “Encore Provence.”

One of the other galleries opening this weekend is the New MAA Artist Members Exhibit, which will showcase a wide range of mediums and styles. Kindle said each new artist picks five pieces of their choice to put on display, but there is not a central theme needed.
Each gallery has its own focus, and community members can go enjoy the art free of charge. These galleries will close on April 12 to welcome the new batch of art.

There will also be a photography meet on March 4 for both members and non-members who would like to “learn about new techniques, the latest innovations in photography and digital art, receive feedback on work, and connect with fellow shutterbugs.”
At the end of the month, there will be a “very special (jazz) performance” by Laszlo Gardony and Don Braden on March 20 as part of the Jazz and the Arts concert series. Tickets can be bought online for $35.
