Marblehead sent in an application to the FY 25 Round of Community One Stop for Growth and on behalf of the Healey-Driscoll Administration, the town has been awarded two grants to support two notable projects.
The Community Planning Grant program awarded the town $130,000 to support the Marblehead Comprehensive Plan. Contracting will begin after Jan. 1, 2025 after the town signs a contract, which will then be sent to the municipal CEO and project contact. The town will also receive an invitation to an online training related to grant administration and contract guidance.
The MassWorks Infrastructure Program awarded the town $135,000 to support the Five CornersRedesign Project. As a prerequisite, the town will be required to submit a Pre-Contract form, provided by the EOED, no later than Jan. 31, 2025.
“The most notable part of the letter to me is that it specifically calls out that they will not be executed if we are non compliant with 3A,” Select board member Dan Fox said.
The grant letters received do not constitute an agreement or contract with the EOHLC, EOED, or the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the grant award is not final until the organization has executed a contract with their respective organizations.
