The Marblehead Conservancy has announced it will hold its annual Earth Day celebration on Saturday, May 4 at the Leads Mill conservation area.
The event will kick off at 9 a.m. and conclude around noon. During the Arbor Day celebration, the conservancy will plant 500 wildflower plugs, spread woodchips, and hold a beach cleanup. In addition to the Marblehead Conservancy, the event will be co-sponsored by Gilbert and Cole, the Marblehead Conservation Commission, the Recreation and Parks Department, and the Forestry Department.
“Please join the community effort to preserve and protect Marblehead’s open spaces,” a flier for the event read. “Wear gloves and sturdy shoes.”
Trash bags, seedlings, tools, and water will all be provided at the event. For more information, community members can contact Maureen Ashley at 781-367-0923 or by email at maureenashley@gmail.com.
