The Marblehead Little Theatre has announced it will be offering a four-session Introduction to Improv workshop for teens and pre-teens Wednesdays this winter. The classes will be held on Jan. 11, Jan. 25, Feb. 1, and Feb. 8 at Marblehead Little Theatre located at 12 School St.

During class, kids will participate in games designed to use everyday life skills like listening, creativity, patience and collaboration. They will also build friendships in a fun, supportive environment and learn important improv skills including expressing emotions and agreement, and creating stories together.

Each session will end with a performance put on by class members for family and friends. The classes require no prior acting experience and are open to children ages 9 to 14. Bruce Whear —who has been a performer since he was twelve years old and affiliated with Marblehead Little Theatre since the ’70s — will be instructing the classes.

The first set of improv classes, which started on Nov. 30 and concluded on Dec.  21, sold out quickly. Whear said that due to the success and high demand of the classes, he along with Marblehead Little Theatre wanted to add another set of classes for the winter.
