Marblehead Little Theatre (MLT) is hosting auditions for its production of “The Great Gatsby: An American Musical” on April 16 from 1-4 p.m. and April 17 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
“Actors should sign-up for a singing time slot and be prepared to attend a dance call only if asked to attend callbacks,” a press release from MLT said.
MLT is asking for actors to perform a verse and a chorus of a song in the style of the show, the press release said. For the dance callback, actors need to bring appropriate shoes and attire. A dance combination will be taught.
Callbacks will be on April 18 starting at 7 p.m.
The production of the musical will run from June 23 to July 2. The director of the production is Alexandra Dietrich. The producers are Andrew Barnett, Steve Black, and Doug Hill.
“Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s beloved classic, with book and lyrics by Fred Anthony Marco and music by Frank Schiro, see this all-new musical come to life on stage,” the MLT press release said. “Relive the story of this classic American novel: visit the dazzling coastal reaches of New York, the ‘Eggs’ of Long Island, during the days of excess and glamour of 1922.”
