The Marblehead School of Ballet announced its summer dance intensives in a press release on Monday.
“Dancers can expand their skills and technique in the Marblehead School of Ballet’s (MSB) celebrated 2023 Summer Dance Intensives program,” the press release said.
Applications to attend the programs are now open for students.
“This year, Broadway performer, dancer, and choreographer Karen Maria Pisani returns to the Marblehead School of Ballet to teach the Acting for Dancers class that will introduce another generation to Broadway,” the press release said.
The program for ages 11 to adult will run from July 10 to July 29. Students can do just one week, all three, or a combination of weeks.
“During the first two weeks, individualized instruction is provided in ballet, modern technique, Pointe, and variations, as well as in the related disciplines of jazz, Pilates, and more,” the press release said. “Choreography will be the focus of the third week followed by a performance on Saturday, July 29.”
The program for ages 8 to 12 will run from Aug. 7 to Aug. 11.
“This intensive offers classes covering ballet technique, improvisation, stretch and strength, rhythm, storytelling through movement, anatomy and more,” the press release said. “Students receive individualized attention customized for their personal development.”
