The Marblehead Speaker Series invites everyone to its next event on Wednesday, April 17 at 1 p.m. We are delighted to welcome Kimberly Grad, who will provide an update on the 2024 Abbot Public Library renovation project. The project includes infrastructure improvements to the HVAC systems, lighting, electrical systems and technology, a reorganized layout, a new maker space, a podcasting studio, and new furnishings.
“I’m excited to share an overview of what Marblehead residents can expect when they visit the library after it reopens soon,” Grad, the director of Abbot Public Library, said.
The Marblehead Speakers Series produces educational events quarterly at the Council on Aging. Its planning committee is a group of senior volunteers who are interested in a variety of topics. Recent programs include The Role of Veterans Agent, A Funny Thing Happened on the Campaign Trail, and Wildlife: Caught on Camera. We are thankful for the continuing sponsorship from All Care.
“Many Marbleheaders contributed ideas for changes they wanted to see in a new library and many suggestions were incorporated in this renovation,” Michael Thompson said. “We’re looking forward to hearing from Kimberly, who has been leading this effort since she moved to Marblehead in 2021.”
The is a free event, open to the public.
