Jillian Lederman, who is from Marblehead, is being honored as one of two recipients of The Wall Street Journal’s Joseph Rago Memorial Fellowship for 2024. She and the other awarded fellow, Luke Lyman, will begin their time at the newspaper this fall.
Lederman will graduate from Brown University this spring with a degree in political science and economics. She is also the executive chair of the Hillel International Israel Leadership Network and the president of Brown Students for Israel.
Beyond this, her work has also been featured in The New York Times, CNN, and MSNBC.
Over the next nine months, Lederman and Lyman will be working in the Opinion section of The Wall Street Journal. They will be the seventh and eight recipients of this fellowship.
The Rago Fellowship was founded in honor of Pulitzer-Prize winning editorial writer Joseph Rago, who died at the age of 34 in 2017. This award is being given to two people instead of one this year for the first time since 2018, its inaugural year.
The 31st annual TFAS Journalism Awards Dinner will be held on Nov. 12, when the Fund for American Studies will present Lederman and Lyman with this honor.
