Do you want to help keep Marblehead clean?
If so, that opportunity will be present yet again on Wednesday, Dec. 7 when the town will host a hazardous waste collection day. In a joint effort with ACV Enviro, the towns of Marblehead and Swampscott will be collecting hazardous waste from households between 7 a.m to 5 p.m.
Rather than driving to a drop off site to get rid of the waste, residents will be able to dispose of these items from the comfort of their own homes as the town will come to their doorstep to collect the waste.
ACV Enviro is an environmental and waste management system which has offices throughout the Northeast to help properly dispose of hazardous waste.
Those who wish to participate must register on the town’s website at marblehead.org.
On the website, you will find a list of items that can be accepted and items that cannot be accepted.
Among the items that are permitted are oil paint, gasoline, antifreeze, pool chemicals, and cleaning products. Those that are not permitted consist of lightbulbs, ammunition/explosives, insulation, and syringes. Any questions on the services, or if an item can be disposed of or not should be directed to mobilehhw@acvenviro.com.
