Windy Way

Police fielded multiple local calls for downed wires and disrupted utility services during Friday’s wind and rain storm, including 5:03 a.m. at Vassar Road; a branch down at 5:30 a.m. at Lafayette Street and West Shore Drive; 5:08 a.m. on Shepard Street; 5:48 a.m. on Ocean Avenue; 6:08 a.m. at Highland Terrace and Village Street; 6:57 a.m. on Front Street;at 7:57 a.m., a large limb reported on West Street; at 8:04 a.m., a tree limb report on a line at Charlotte Road and Humphrey Street; at 8:13 a.m., a wire reported in an Ocean Avenue driverway; at 8:41 a.m., a utility problem reported on Pond Street; at 8:50 a.m., “closing the causeway;” at 9:31 a.m., a hang wire reported on Cliff Street; at 9:36 a.m., water reported in the roadway at Atlantic Avenue and Preston Beach Road; at 10:32 a.m., road closure at Beacon Street and Gingerbread Hill; at 11:09 a.m., Beacon Street reported blocked at Crowinshield; at 11:47 a.m., a tree reported blocking the roadway at Highland Terrace and Village Street; at 12:26 p.m., Pond Street reported block; an open beach gate reported at 1:57 p.m. on Ocean Avenue; at 4:15 p.m., a tree branch reported down on Tedesco Street; at 4:31 p.m., a branch reported down on Crestwood Road; at 4:41 p.m., a branch reported down at Atlantic Avenue and Beach Street; at 5:29 p.m., no power reported on Edgewood Road; at 7:32 p.m., wires and tree reported down at Commercial Street and Prospect Street; at 7:55 p.m., a tree or branch reported down on Pleasant Street.

Fire Calls

In addition to responding to storm calls, police assisted the Fire Department on Friday at 10:49 a.m. in investigating a fire reported in a Harding Lane yard; responded at 11:33 a.m. to a report of smoke in a Lehman Road basement.

Saturday, Dec. 24

Confused

An individual arrested on Saturday at 2:14 a.m. was listed in the police dispatch log as “confused.”

Lost/Found

Police on Saturday at 8:39 a.m. received a report of a wallet lost on Ocean Avenue; at 10:15 a.m., a report of lost/found property on Paradise Road; at 9:56 p.m., a lost/found property report on Humphrey Street.

Storm Follow

Police assisted on Saturday with reports of damage in the wake of Friday’s storm, including an 8:52 a.m. utility disruption call from Middle Street; a 10:39 a.m. report of a tree or branch down at Puritan Road and Morgan Lane; at 10:59 a.m., a branch or tree reported down at Liberty Lane; at 3 p.m., a caller claiming a “town tree” broke a Devereux Terrace fence;

Long Gone

Hit and run damage was reported to police on Saturday at 11:13 a.m. on Washington Street.

Disturbia

Police responded on Saturday at 7:29 p.m. to a disturbance encompassing addresses on Pleasant Street and Rowland Street.

Sunday, Dec. 25

Lost/Found

Police responded on Sunday at 9:49 a.m. to a report of a credit card found on Stacey Street.

Lockout

Police responded with the Fire Department on Sunday at 11:40 a.m. to a house lockout reported on West Shore Drive.

Christmas Merry

Police responded on Sunday at 12:32 p.m. to a report of a “man dancing on the street” at Seaview Avenue and Atlantic Avenue.

Annoyance

Police received a report on Sunday at 5:15 p.m. of annoying phone calls on Gerry Street.

Come With Us

Police on Sunday at 9:25 p.m. provided protective custody following a call from Atlantic Avenue.

Tuesday, Dec. 27

Missing

Police investigated a report on Tuesday at 8:37 a.m. of jewelry missing on Tedesco Street.

Alarm

Police responded with the Fire Department on Tuesday at 9:28 a.m. to a Washington Street fire alarm.

Enforcement

Police on Tuesday at 10 a.m. issued a verbal traffic warning to a driver on Rockaway Avenue.

Forgery

Police on Tuesday at 12:55 p.m. responded to a report of larceny/forgery/fraud on Corinthian Lane.

Gone

Police received a report on Tuesday at 2:22 p.m. of a hit and run on Front Street; at 3:19 p.m., a report of a sign missing at Selman Street and Front Street.
