Police Logs Aug. 6 – 12

Wednesday, Aug. 6

Complaints

At 10:24 a.m., officers responded to a general complaint on Rowland Street. After investigating the issue, the matter was resolved without further incident. Later, around 12:07 p.m., police were dispatched to Atlantic Avenue near Greystone Road for another general complaint, but the officers were unable to locate the source upon arrival.

Disturbances

Shortly after midnight at 12:24 a.m., officers were called to a Pleasant Street location following a report of a disturbance. Units responded promptly, and the situation was resolved on scene.

Found/Lost Property

A steady stream of lost and found property reports came throughout the day. At 11:44 a.m., property was reported at a Pleasant Street location, followed by another item turned in near the same street at 12:48 p.m. A third report came in at 1:48 p.m. on Village Street. Later in the evening, at 5:46 p.m., found property was logged at Gerry Street, and again at 8:11 p.m. in the same area.

Larceny/Forgery/Fraud

At 8:40 a.m., a report of fraud was taken regarding an incident originating from Oak Street in Beverly. Later, at 3:29 p.m., officers responded to a Crestwood Road residence for a larceny-related matter, which led to a formal report being taken.

Motor Vehicles

At 7:02 a.m., officers responded to Knight Avenue for a motor vehicle crash. The scene was assessed and cleared. Another crash occurred at 3:04 p.m. at Clifton Avenue and Humphrey Street involving past damage; a report was filed. Just minutes later, at 3:06 p.m., a second crash was reported on Washington Street and was handled without the need for formal documentation. At 10:16 a.m., a motor vehicle complaint was made for erratic driving near Front and Franklin streets. Officers responded and monitored the area. At 10:41 a.m., a vehicle was stopped near Pleasant Street and the driver received a verbal warning. A second vehicle was pulled over on Humphrey Street at 10:52 a.m., resulting in a citation. Around 12:37 p.m., another traffic stop was conducted near West Shore Drive and Puritan Road, resulting in a citation and an incident report. Later that night at 11:01 p.m., a motorist was stopped at Beacon and Green streets and was given a verbal warning.

Property Checks

Routine checks were conducted throughout the day. At 12:38 a.m., an officer secured the Stramski Way facility. At 1:36 a.m., another check was completed on Ocean Avenue. Mid-morning, at 10:28 a.m., officers checked a property on Atlantic Avenue, followed by another at 10:31 a.m. on Community Road. At 3:08 p.m., officers returned to Atlantic Avenue for a final property check of the day, and at 11:08 p.m., they revisited Stramski Way, confirming the building was secure.

Special Details

Numerous details and assignments were conducted beginning at 6:50 a.m., including oversight for Mayer Tree OBO MMLD on Woodfin Terrace, several RJ Devereaux construction details on Prospect Street and Longview Drive, and Granese details at Atlantic Avenue and Bubier Road, Pleasant Street and Bubier Road, and Pleasant Street and Mohawk Road. Officers ensured safety and traffic management at each site. Additional assignments at 7:20 a.m. included monitoring activities for the Light Department, with the location shifting during the morning from Gregory Street to the intersection of Gregory and Lindsey. At 7:57 a.m., two grid detail assignments were conducted near Pleasant Street and Watson Street. Around 8:20 a.m., two more Verizon-related details were fulfilled on Pleasant Street.

Well-being Checks

At 5:23 p.m., officers responded to a 911 hang-up call at a residence on West Shore Drive. The call was investigated, and no emergency was found.

 

Thursday, Aug. 7

Alarms

At 7:13 p.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm on Humphrey Street. Units investigated the alarm and determined the situation to be secure.

Building and Property Checks

Officers conducted multiple proactive property and building checks throughout the day and night. At 12:44 a.m., a check was completed at Stramski Way. Additional early morning checks were performed on Beacon Street at 5:16 a.m., Pleasant Street at 5:21 a.m., Front Street at 5:45 a.m., and Atlantic Avenue at 6:20 a.m. Later in the evening, around 10:02 p.m., police also checked a location on Lighthouse Lane to ensure the property was secure. All sites were found in good order.

Found/Lost Property

At 11:42 a.m., police took a report of lost property on Wyman Road. Later in the evening at 9:02 p.m., an individual reported a lost earring on Brook Road.

General Information

At 10:16 a.m., officers received a call requesting general information in the area of Gregory Street and Redstone Lane. Another inquiry came at 11:43 a.m. from a resident on Wharf Path, which was also addressed by the responding unit.

Motor Vehicles

Police issued several verbal warnings and citations during traffic stops and responded to a disabled vehicle.

At 10:22 a.m., a vehicle was stopped on Lafayette Street and given a verbal warning. Shortly after, at 10:35 a.m., another stop at Pleasant Street and Ocean Avenue resulted in a second verbal warning. At 12:56 p.m., a disabled vehicle was reported on Village Street near a local business. Officers responded and investigated the incident. Later, at 2:08 p.m., a motorist was cited for a violation during a stop on West Shore Drive and Mary Lane. Throughout the day, traffic patrols were actively conducted, including coverage under “GRID 1” and “GRID 2” beginning at 7:50 a.m. in the Pleasant and Watson Street area, and “GRID 3” at 3:34 p.m. Officers also supported MMLD, Mayer Tree, Verizon, RJ Devereaux, and Granese construction crews with traffic and public safety during their work across multiple town intersections and streets.

Out-of-Town Matters

At 9:02 a.m., police fielded a 911 call that originated from Cedar Hill Road in Salem. The call was referred to the appropriate outside agency.

Other Services Rendered

Officers responded to a report involving general building services at Bessom Street around 7:54 a.m., where they ensured the front and exit doors were properly addressed. At 6:50 a.m., several coordinated details occurred throughout town, including on Prospect Street, Longview Drive, and Pleasant Street. These were all marked as services rendered, with no further police action required in some cases. Additional assistance was provided to Verizon crews on Commercial Street and Atlantic Avenue beginning at 8:20 a.m., where officers ensured the safety of the work zones. Police also addressed utility-related requests on Woodfin Terrace and Commercial Street related to MMLD, as well as several general traffic control assignments under the Granese and Grid designations.

Well-Being Checks / Medicals / 911 Hangups

At 5:16 p.m., police responded to an open-line 911 call from the Peach Highlands area. Officers determined the call to be accidental after checking the area and making contact.

 

Friday, Aug. 8

Alarms

At 5:46 a.m., a burglar alarm sounded on Village Street. Officers investigated and determined no action was required. Later at 9:29 a.m., a false burglar alarm was reported at a Washington Street address. Officers Charles Sweeney and Sean Sweeney responded and confirmed the false activation.

Assist Other Agency

At 8:16 a.m., Marblehead officers assisted another agency on Nahant Road. At 2:15 p.m., officers responded to Ocean Avenue to assist again and referred the matter to the appropriate agency.

Building Checks

Multiple building checks were conducted throughout the early morning hours. At 12:17 a.m., a check on Beacon Street resulted in a citation. Additional locations included West Shore Drive, Vine Street, Pleasant Street, and Washington Street, where buildings were secured without issue.

Complaints

A general complaint was reported at 9:20 a.m. on Linden Street, and another at 7:47 p.m. near Humphrey Street. In the latter case, officers responded and filed a report for follow-up.

Found/Lost Property

At 6:56 a.m., officers rendered services for a found/lost property report on Atlantic Avenue. Another phone was reported found at 7 a.m. on Fort Sewall Lane. A third item was turned in from Woodfin Terrace at 10:59 a.m.

General Information

At 11:01 a.m., officers provided general information in the area of Pleasant and Smith streets.

Motor Vehicles

A crash occurred at 7:40 a.m. on Ocean Avenue, resulting in police response and the filing of a report. At 1:07 p.m., a vehicle was reported disabled on Atlantic Avenue and police provided assistance. Later at 9:35 p.m., a motor vehicle stop at Pleasant and Smith streets resulted in a verbal warning issued by Officer Eric Osattin.

Property Checks

Routine property checks were performed throughout the day and early morning, including visits to locations on Stramski Way, Village Street, Ocean Avenue, Community Road, and Atlantic Avenue. All checks concluded with no issues.

Purse Theft

At 7:57 p.m., officers responded to a report of a purse stolen from a vehicle on Ocean Avenue. Officer Dennis DeFelice took a report for the incident.

Town Bylaw

At 10:41 a.m., a possible town bylaw violation was reported on Flint Street. Officer Douglas Mills investigated but found the complaint to be unfounded.

Utility Work & Construction

Throughout the day, officers were on duty to support various utility and construction operations, including Mayer Tree, RJ Devereaux projects at Prospect and Longview streets, and work near Tedesco Street. Officers coordinated road diversions and maintained safe traffic flow.

 

Saturday, Aug. 9

Building Checks

During overnight hours, officers checked the security of buildings on Community Road at 12:18 a.m. and Atlantic Avenue at 12:22 a.m., confirming they were secure. A follow-up building check at Tedesco Street occurred at 6:51 a.m., and another check at Community Road and Atlantic Avenue was done again just after 9:30 a.m. All structures were found secure.

Complaint – General

Several general complaints were logged throughout the day. At 11:41 a.m., officers responded to Liberty Road for a complaint involving a garage door concern. Police were also called to Pleasant Street at 2:22 p.m., Maple Street at 5:16 p.m., School Street at 5:17 p.m. (which resulted in a report), Cove Lane at 6:53 p.m. (deemed unfounded), Humphrey Street at 8:19 p.m., and Peter Circle at 10:37 p.m. (a report was taken).

Found/Lost Property

At 7:46 a.m., a found property report was taken from Brook Road. Later, at 1:34 p.m., another found property report came from West Shore Drive.

General Information

At 8:32 p.m., officers responded to the area of Atlantic Avenue and Chestnut Street, with the location later updated to Beach Street and Atlantic Avenue. Units were dispatched to assist with a general call for information.

Larceny/Forgery/Fraud

Officers were called to May Street at 11:34 a.m. for a report of larceny or fraud. A report was filed. Another fraud report was taken from Village Street at 4:25 p.m.

Motor Vehicles

At 8:42 a.m., officers investigated a complaint involving a moving vehicle near Pleasant and Smith Streets. Later, a motor vehicle stop resulted in a verbal warning at Humphrey and Thompson at 9:23 a.m., followed by another warning near 3458 Humphrey Street at 9:31 a.m. A third verbal warning was issued at 5:49 p.m. at Ocean Avenue and Pleasant Street, and a fourth was issued at 8:27 p.m. near 12796 Atlantic Avenue. Additionally, at 3:46 p.m., a moving vehicle complaint was investigated at Schooner Ridge and Beacon Street, resulting in a report.

Notary

At 4:33 p.m., an officer assisted a resident on Gerry Street with notary services.

Permit to Burn

At 4:50 p.m., a call related to a burn permit was logged at Phillips Street, though no action was required.

Property Checks

Routine property checks were conducted throughout the day, including stops at State Street (12:07 a.m.), Stramski Way (12:13 a.m.), Humphrey Street (12:26 a.m. and again at 11:20 a.m.), Pleasant Street (12:49 and 12:50 a.m.), Community Road (9:37 a.m.), Atlantic Avenue (9:42 a.m.), Ocean Avenue (9:57 p.m.), and Lighthouse Lane (10:02 p.m.).

Services Rendered

Police provided general services across various locations. This included support on Pleasant Street and Mohawk Road at 7 a.m., and again at Crestwood Road at 7:20 a.m. Officers also responded to Liberty Road at 11:45 a.m., Lafayette Street at 12:56 p.m., and unspecified locations at 10:51 p.m. and 11:14 p.m. Services were rendered as needed.

Town Bylaw

At 9:16 a.m., a non-criminal town bylaw issue was reported on Endicott Avenue. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the involved parties.

Utilities

At 12:56 p.m., police responded to Lafayette Street to support DPW or utility-related services.

Wedding Detail

An officer provided a wedding detail presence at Ocean Avenue at 3:20 p.m.

911 Hang-Up

At 9:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to Bessom Street for a 911 hang-up call. Upon investigation, no emergency was found.

 

Sunday, Aug. 10

Complaint

A general complaint was reported at 2:29 a.m. on Lindsey Street. Officers responded and addressed the concern at the scene. Later in the evening, at 6:42 p.m., another general complaint came in from Pleasant Street at the intersection of Watson Street. Officers evaluated the situation and concluded that no further action was required.

Found/Lost Property

At 6:24 p.m., a report of found or lost property was made from the area of Front Street and Circle Street. Officers handled the matter. Later at 11:14 p.m., another property-related report was taken from Phillips Street near its intersection with an unnamed road.

Motor Vehicle Crash

A two-vehicle accident occurred at 12:29 p.m. at Lafayette Street and Everett Paine Boulevard. Officers, firefighters, and EMS responded to the scene. One person was transported to the hospital. At 2:56 p.m., officers responded to another motor vehicle crash at a Pleasant Street location. A citation was issued, and a report was taken. At 5:50 p.m., a minor motor vehicle accident was reported near Rockaway Avenue and Carlton Road. Officers responded and documented the incident.

Motor Vehicle Complaint

A moving vehicle complaint was reported just after midnight on Ocean Avenue. Officers responded to the scene and addressed the issue. At 1:23 p.m., a motorist on Pleasant Street was reported for erratic driving. A report was taken. At 4:43 p.m., a third motor vehicle complaint came in from Kimball Street. Officers responded and the matter was resolved.

Property Check

Throughout the day, officers conducted multiple property checks to ensure safety and security across town. These included checks at:

  • Humphrey Street at 12:02 a.m.

  • Market Square at 12:09 a.m.

  • Community Road (multiple locations) at 12:09 a.m., 8:41 a.m., 9:48 a.m., and 11:19 a.m.

  • Pleasant Street (multiple properties) at 12:52 a.m., 12:54 a.m., and 9:45 a.m.

  • Stramski Way at 12:58 a.m.

  • Atlantic Avenue (multiple locations) at 8:45 a.m. and 11:22 a.m.

  • Lighthouse Lane at 10:03 p.m.

Stolen Property

A resident on Rose Avenue reported a stolen license plate at 6:53 p.m. Officers arrived and took a report documenting the incident.

Suspicious Activity

At 1:45 p.m., a report of suspicious activity came in from a business on Washington Street. Police investigated the situation and determined there was no ongoing threat.

Alarm

A burglar alarm was triggered at a home on Auburndale Road at 4:04 p.m. Officers responded and confirmed it was a false alarm.

911 Hang-Up

A 911 hang-up call was received from Thompson Road at 7:29 a.m. Officers investigated and found no emergency. Another hang-up was reported at 3:18 p.m. on Nonantum Road. Police followed up and verified that the situation did not require further action.

 

Monday, Aug. 11

Assist Other Agency

Police were called to Village Street at 11:36 a.m. to assist an outside agency. The officer coordinated efforts with the involved department and documented the incident.

Complaint

Officers responded to several general complaints throughout the day. At 9:26 a.m., a call from Green Street required officers and paramedics to respond. The individual was ultimately transported to the hospital by ambulance. Just before noon at 11:31 a.m., a situation on Nicholson Street required the response of multiple officers, including a detective. Peace was restored, and the matter was documented. At 3:04 p.m., a complaint was reported on Barnard Hawkes Court. Two officers responded and addressed the issue. Later, at 3:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Stramski Way for another general complaint, which they investigated. At 5:04 p.m., police investigated another complaint at Lincoln Park.

Detail – Police

At 3:50 a.m., an officer was present for a detail assignment at Pleasant and Watson streets. Another police detail was assigned at 8:33 a.m. to Pleasant Street.

Disturbance

Several disturbances were reported during the day. The first occurred at 6:19 a.m. on Green Street. Officers responded and filed a report. At 9:50 a.m., a disturbance was reported on Hathaway Road, and the responding officer ensured the situation was deescalated. At 5:50 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance on Peter Circle and took a report. Later, at 7:40 p.m., police were called back to Barnard Hawkes Court for another disturbance and investigated. A final disturbance of the evening was reported at 10:07 p.m. on Orne Street, which officers investigated.

Harassment

An officer responded to Atlantic Avenue at 4:05 p.m. to take a report of harassment. The complaint was documented.

HPO Service

At 8:38 p.m., police responded to Commercial Street to serve a Harassment Prevention Order. The action was completed without incident.

Motor Vehicle Crashes

Two motor vehicle crashes occurred during the day. The first happened at 12:26 p.m. on Peach Highlands, where officers responded and documented the incident. The second crash took place at 5:52 p.m. at the intersection of Shepard Street and Turner Road. Police, fire, and EMS all responded to the scene. A report was taken.

Motor Vehicle Complaint – Moving

Police responded to a moving vehicle complaint near Ocean Avenue at 9:08 p.m. Two officers investigated the matter to determine whether further action was necessary.

Property Checks

Throughout the day and night, officers conducted multiple property checks at various locations, including Stramski Way, Atlantic Avenue, Community Road, Pleasant Street, Ridge Road, Commercial Street, and Lighthouse Lane. All properties were found to be secure or appropriately checked.

Scooters

At 4:35 p.m., police investigated a report involving scooters on Rockaway Avenue. The situation was reviewed, and further action was determined as needed.

Suspicious Activity

Police responded to two reports of suspicious activity. At 10:18 p.m., officers were called to Pleasant Street, where peace was ultimately restored after investigating the complaint. At 11:15 p.m., a report of suspicious activity on Maple Street prompted a police response and investigation.

 

Tuesday, Aug. 12

Annoying Phone Calls

At 11:37 a.m., police were contacted regarding repeated annoying phone calls to a residence on Risley Road. Officers responded and took appropriate measures to address the issue and ensure the resident’s peace of mind.

Assist Other Agency

At 7:50 p.m., Marblehead officers responded to Washington Street in Lynn to assist another law enforcement agency.

Boat Complaint

At 3:52 p.m., a complaint involving a boat in Marblehead Harbor was reported. Officers looked into the matter and ensured safety on the water.

Complaints

Police were called to Brown’s Island at 9:21 p.m. for a general complaint. Another complaint was logged at 9:48 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue, but responding officers were unable to locate the source of the issue.

Disturbance

A disturbance was reported at 11:43 p.m. on Ferry Lane. Officers arrived on scene and filed a report for further follow-up.

Found/Lost Property

At 10:14 a.m., police were notified of found property on Ocean Avenue. Another report came in at 2:03 p.m. for found or lost property on Chestnut Street. Officers ensured the proper handling of the items.

General Information

Police responded to a call at 10:33 a.m. on Central Street to provide general information and assistance. Another informational call came in at 12:10 p.m. near Beach Street and Orchard Street. At 2:07 p.m., officers addressed a similar matter on Turner Road.

Larceny/Forgery/Fraud

A larceny or fraud complaint was reported at 10:43 a.m. on Hewitt Street. Officers investigated and took the necessary steps to address the issue.

Motor Vehicles

At 9:12 a.m., a vehicle was pulled over near Pleasant Street and Ocean Avenue, and the driver was issued a verbal warning. Later in the day, at 8:17 p.m., a second motor vehicle stop occurred at the intersection of Mohawk Road and Pleasant Street, resulting in a citation being issued.

Out of Town 911 Calls

A 911 call from Washington Street in Lynn was referred to the appropriate agency at 6:53 a.m. Another call was transferred to Swampscott authorities at 10:54 p.m. for an incident on Blodgett Avenue.

Property Checks

Officers conducted several routine property checks throughout the day, including stops at Stramski Way at 12:40 a.m., Pleasant Street at 2:13 a.m., Community Road at 9:35 p.m. and again at 9:35 p.m., and Atlantic Avenue at 9:37 a.m. and 9:39 p.m. All locations were secure.

Utilities

Police responded to Pleasant Street at 5:13 p.m. for an issue related to electricity or other municipal utilities. The matter was peacefully resolved with assistance from the appropriate agency.

Verizon Work

At 8:30 a.m., officers assisted with a scheduled Verizon service issue at a Pleasant Street address.

Work Site Checks and Details

Officers provided assistance to utility and construction crews starting at 6:50 a.m. throughout town, including locations on Woodfin Terrace, Pleasant Street, Ocean Avenue, Prospect Street, Longview Drive, and Tedesco Street. No issues were found at most locations, and officers rendered services as needed.

911 Hang-Up

At 5:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to Jersey Street after a 911 call was disconnected. Upon arrival, they confirmed there was no emergency.
