Relays and records in Boston

BOSTON — It was an action-packed weekend of high school track and field as local athletes performed in MSTCA divisional relays.

In Division 3, Marblehead High’s Sarah Munroe, Lucy Flynn, Norah Walsh, and Marrietta O’Connell recorded a school-record time of 12:54.19 in the distance medley relay (4,000m).

Charlotte Hodgkinson, Sadie Halpern, Flynn, and O’Connell took third in the 1,600m with a time of 4:23.52, while Flynn, Hodgkinson, Cora Gerson, and Halpern finished fourth in the 4x50y (25.65).

Clark Roszell finished first in the high jump (6-0), while Colin Burke (5-10) and Owen Coyne (5-08) also impressed.

In Div. 1, St. John’s Prep was victorious with 68 points. Second-place Central Catholic totaled 37. Tyson Stroope took third in the high jump relay (6-2), while the 4x50y relay team of Ahmir Hykel, Dayvian Sullivan, Jordan Toribio, and Andrew McManmon took first in 21.27.

Also winning was the 4x200m team of Hykel, McManmon, Quinten Murray, and Will Quigley (1:30.66).

Div. 3: Marblehead (boys – 11th, girls – 8th)
