Never in doubt – even in enemy territory. Less than 24 hours after its 7-4 win against Bishop Fenwick, Marblehead’s baseball team took things into high gear with a 16-1 thrashing of Danvers on Tuesday.
Chris Cannuscio (4 IP) allowed just four hits and punched out three, while six Magicians connected on hits. He was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two walks, followed by Brooks Keefe’s two hits and three RBI, Jake Scogland’s three RBI, Charlie Sachs’ three RBI, and Bodie Bartram’s four RBI.

BC High 9
St. John’s Prep 0
The BC High baseball team (8-0) wasn’t going to allow a traditional archrival to pick up a road win, defeating St. John’s Prep, 9-0, behind Liam Kinneen’s (15 strikeouts) no-hitter. The offense wasn’t too shabby, either, with five runs scored in the second inning.
The game came just three days after Prep took care of St. Paul, 10-6, behind Cam LaGrassa’s single, triple, and two RBI.

With Friday’s game moved to a 10 a.m. start, the Magicians showed they can be morning people when needed. Marblehead bested Salem, 14-1, at Seaside Park.
After giving up an unearned run in the first, Marblehead scored the next 14, eight of which came in the second inning. Junior Stef Shepard led off with a solo home run, then hit a three-run shot later in the inning.

A 3-2 deficit after three innings was no problem for the Magicians on Wednesday, April 17, storming back with three runs in the fourth to tame the Panthers. Marblehead showed off its versatility, too, with six batters connecting on hits.
Bodie Bartram led the offensive attack with two RBI, while Carter Sahagian (4 IP) struck out five and allowed just three hits.

Five games, five wins for the defending Division 1 state champions. The Prep took care of Andover, 15-10, at home.
Andover bolted to a quick 2-0 lead – a rarity for Prep – but the Eagles knotted up the scoreboard, 3-3, by the end of the first quarter. Jake Vana (3 assists) went home with a hat trick and Jack Doherty won 16 of 19 face-offs to lead the hosts, who next welcome St. John’s at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

One hat trick is good, two is even better, and three is something else. Jack Whipple, Reece Moore, and Will Sullivan scored three goals apiece to lead the visiting Marblehead laxmen to a 12-5 victory against Masconomet.
The scoreboard showed 5-3 (Marblehead) at the break and 1-1 after one, but the Red and Black pulled away in explosive fashion from there.

BOYS TENNIS
Hamilton-Wenham 3
Marblehead 2
Host Marblehead picked up a singles win from Etan Farfel, as well as a doubles victory from Anthony Vizy and Ty Cooper, but it wasn’t enough on Tuesday.
“Both the doubles teams went three sets and the match rested on their results after our first singles player (Mika Garber) had to retire with an injury,” said Marblehead coach Elisabeth Foukal.
Perhaps the difference in the match was a “heartbreaker,” according to Foukal, as Jayden Janock and Austin Bacon lost their doubles match 6-7, 6-1, 7-6.
“Jayden and Austin had all the momentum in the third set, up 5-3,” she said. “This was first-rate doubles by all four players.”
