Just like that, the Marblehead baseball team scored four runs in the fifth inning to get past Manchester-Essex, 4-2, at Seaside Park on Monday.
Marblehead got on the board when freshman Greyson Leventhal hit a sac-fly to drive in sophomore Graham Tips. Then, it was Charlie Sachs who brought in a run through an RBI-single.
With his second hit of the game, senior Chris Cannuscio had a two-RBI single to bring home the third and fourth runs of the inning.
Fast forward to the seventh – with bases loaded and two outs – Magicians’ pitcher Brooks Keefe struck out the final batter to earn the save. Do-it-all Cannuscio went five innings and struck out four batters to pick up the win.
