It was quite the weekend for Marblehead sports fans.
The boys track and field team (93 points) captured Saturday’s Northeastern Conference championship — the first in program history — with runner-up Masconomet, Peabody, and Beverly following at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. The Peabody girls (121) cruised against runner-up Marblehead, Masconomet, and Gloucester. Marblehead’s Clark Roszell (6-2) won the high jump, followed by teammate Owen Coyne (6-0). Colin Burke, Will Cruikshank, and Eben Weed impressed in their respective events. Marri O’Connell (mile – 5:16) and Lucy Flynn (300m – 42:51) were victorious on the girls’ side.
The swimming and diving squad secured its 26th consecutive Northeastern Conference crown after the boys and girls finished with 1,000-plus points during Saturday’s conference meet. Making splashes for the Magicians were Iam Chemel, Cade Nelson, Brady Leveroni, Omar Elnabaraway, Orion Lewis, Nelson Elnabaraway, Ivan Monin, Winnie Waddington, Grace Ladouceur, Hazell Wright, Shaelyn Callahan, Monica Pechhold, Macy Ladouceur, Claire Burke, Hailey Gilmore, and Callie Gilmore.
TRACK AND FIELD
St. John’s Prep captured the Catholic Conference championship in the varsity (150 points) and freshman/sophomore (48) divisions. Varsity winners were Leo Emerson, Tyson Stroope, Ethan Caulfield, Ahmir Hykel, Andrew McManmon, Quinten Murray, Will Quigley, Jack McIntosh, Hunter Opal, Liam Mahoney, and Mateo DeOrio.

Using a dominant 33-13 first half, Marblehead celebrated Senior Night in style. Samara Dosch, a senior captain, started her first game after a knee injury and scored the first two points of the game. Seniors Greta Sachs, Tess Andriano, Hailey Schmitt, and Nora Mahan all played well, according to coach Paul Moran.

Marblehead led 26-10 at halftime and cruised to a Northeastern Conference road win. Andriano led the Magicians with 12 points, Greta Sachs added 11, and Carys Moran chipped in five.

Marblehead scored the go-ahead goal late in the third period through Vera Conley, was assisted by Emilia Russo. Nola Ferraresso made 20 saves. Paige Waldman and Nola Conley each netted a goal, while teammate’s Brooke Griffin and Lillian Wilkins compiled assists.
