Marblehead’s boys soccer team continued to roll, defeating the Vikings, 5-1, last Friday. Better yet – talk about versatility – five goals were scored by five players in David Magen, Miles Fontela-Tuttle, Jared Halpern, Ilan Druker, and Luke Miller.
Druker dished out four assists, while Halpern assisted Druker’s tally.
On the girls’ side the same evening, Marblehead bounced back against Winthrop, 6-0, after a narrow defeat against Danvers on Thursday. The Magicians’ top goal-scorer, Callie Gilmore (12 goals this season), scored a brace.
Courtney Hitscherich registered one goal and two assists, while teammate Sydney Ball also found the back of the net. Paige Fletcher and Liv Niles each recorded their first varsity goals to cap off what was, frankly, a perfect night for Marblehead’s soccer programs.
CROSS COUNTRY
Marblehead’s boys (7-0) finished off the regular season with a 20-40 win over host Peabody, securing the regular season Northeastern Conference championship. The team was led by the 1-2 combination of seniors Nate Assa and Will Cerrutti. Jacob Szalewicz finished fourth.
David Alpert, Victor Pechhold, and Peter Sullivan delivered strong performances as well, finishing sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively.
