The Salem Waterfront Hotel celebrated its 20th anniversary with a grand event attended by more than 200 people from the local business community, government officials, and supporters who have contributed to the hotel’s success over the past two decades.
The celebration, held throughout the first floor of the hotel, began in the lobby and extended into the newly rebranded restaurant, Mainstay Social. Guests were welcomed with passed champagne in commemorative anniversary glasses, signature cocktails, and a variety of appetizers and food stations.
During the evening, T. Michael Rockett, the hotel’s founder, delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing gratitude for his team’s efforts over the years. Salem Mayor Dominick Pangallo, Rep. Manny Cruz, and District Attorney Paul Tucker also addressed the crowd, highlighting the hotel’s positive impact on the community.
Entertainment featured a DJ from the 617 Group in the hotel’s ballroom, while the Guy Ford Band performed on the restaurant patio, providing a lively atmosphere as attendees enjoyed the night.
In addition to the celebration, the hotel announced a series of significant renovations. All 86 guest rooms have been fully updated, and a new 87th room, the Premier King Suite, has been added. The lobby, meeting and event spaces, and guest floor hallways were also refreshed. The transformation extends to the rebranding of the restaurant into Mainstay Social, with new furniture and fixtures throughout the property.
Designed by Studio 59 East, the renovations draw inspiration from the maritime history of Pickering Wharf, featuring classic colors, bold patterns, and nautical details that reflect the hotel’s waterfront location.
