Who doesn’t love a matinee?
It was a happy Saturday for the Marblehead Seasiders of the North Shore Baseball League. Despite their 2-8 start to the summer, they took care of North Reading (6-8) by a score of 8-0 at Seaside Park.
Almani Gerardo led the charge, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs. Going home with two hits apiece were James Giugino, Ryan Gallagher, Mike Mitchell, and Brian Hadden, while Nick Mazzarella and Brannon Frost had one hit each.
Overall, the Seasiders batted .433 on Saturday, striking out just five times and walking three times. Giugino picked up the win on the mound for his second win of the summer (2-1).
Jack Mihalchik and Kevin Murillo led North Reading in its losing effort, with two hits apiece.
