Another week has come and gone for the Marblehead Seasiders of the North Shore Baseball League. The team sits in last place, of 11 teams, with a record of 0-7, sporting 29 runs scored and 57 against, according to the league’s website.
This past week, Marblehead was taken down by Peabody (12-2 final), Swampscott (8-7 final), and Rowley twice (10-1 final; 6-4 final).
Schuyler Schmitt leads the Seasiders with seven hits, followed by Wilbur Rosario (6), Josh Sigmon (4), Matt Tinoco (3), Gilbert Galva (3), Trey Blackmer (3), and Jack Tsoutsouras (3).
Brian Hadden has roped four RBI to lead Marblehead, while Schmitt sports a batting average of .500 across 14 at-bats. Rosario is batting .429 across 14 at-bats.
On the bump, James Giugino has impressed with a 1.17 ERA, 13 strikeouts, and just two earned runs allowed across 12 innings pitched (3 games).
Next up for the Seasiders is Saturday’s home game against North Reading. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. at Seaside Park. Marblehead wraps up June with four consecutive home games, seeking a run to climb up the standings.
