Seasiders secure weekend win against Powerhouse

In a Sunday evening matchup at Seaside Park, the home-team fans left happy after the Marblehead Seasiders took down Powerhouse, 11-8, in an offensive thriller.

The win gave Marblehead (2-10) its second victory of the season. The Seasiders defeated North Reading, 1-0, June 21 for win No. 1.

Leading Marblehead in hits are Schuyler Schmitt (7), Wilbur Rosario (6), Josh Sigmon (4), Matt Tinoco (3), Jack Tsoutsouras (3), Trey Blackmer (3), and Gilbert Galva (3).

Brian Hadden leads the team with four RBI, followed by Tinoco (3), Blackmer (2), Brannon Frost (2), and Ben Shea (2).

As for batting averages, four Seasiders are batting above .400: Tsoutsouras (.750), Jack Lindsay (.667), Schmitt (.500), Hadden (.500), Derek Finn (.500), Rosario (.429), and Galva (.429).

Marblehead’s next game is Sunday afternoon against Beverly. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. at Seaside Park. After Sunday’s game, the Seasiders (50 runs scored, 91 runs against) have eight more games to climb the standings.
