The Marblehead High School Boosters have begun spreading the holiday cheer through their annual Booster Stars Campaign.
The Boosters support high school student-athletes by providing their financial needs through scholarships or raising money for new field accommodations. The Boosters are a team of all volunteers who rely on the communities generosity with donations and other fund-raising efforts.
The current campaign is honoring some of the unsung heroes throughout the Marblehead community. The Boosters place large light-up stars in the front yards of the heroes chosen.
On Sunday, the Boosters chose their first unsung hero, Jen Norman, also in honor of the late Todd Norman.
On Saturday, Jen Norman hosted the 13th Annual Winter Bags Tournament to benefit the Sterny’s Way Scholarship Fund. Jen Norman was “boostered” on Sunday surrounded by her family and friends.
Jen Norman said, “I am thankful for this amazing community and all of the support we have received,” in a Facebook comment under the Marblehead Boosters post.
In honor of Todd Norman, he was a highly loved Marblehead High School Football and Softball Coach who selflessly cheered on all student-athletes who made their way through the high school over the years. Todd Norman is remembered as a respected mentor for young athletes.
The Boosters will continue to honor the unsung heroes of Marblehead through the month of December. Be on the lookout on their Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/marbleheadboosters, for upcoming “boostered” heroes.
