The Marblehead Democratic Town Committee (MDTC) very much appreciates the efforts of our new Marblehead news organizations to take us out of the news desert left by the Gannett Corporation. Facilitating accurate information and transparency in our town finances, especially ahead of a structural deficit and budget crisis is critical as important decisions will have to be made soon. In this context, going forward, most taxpayers will expect us to maximize the rate of return on our funds. The MDTC will be encouraging everyone to study the situation, so as to ask good questions, and participate in informed discussions with the goals of understanding our options and making the best decisions for our town.
