Joanne Steadman and Lisa Parker claimed top honors in Tedesco Country Club’s women’s club championships, with Steadman winning the 18-hole title and Parker taking the nine-hole crown.
Both golfers delivered composed performances to secure their respective titles.
Steadman captured her first women’s title since 2018 with a comeback win against Kym Pappathanasi in the final. Trailing by two through 10 holes, she rallied with strong putting and steady play, clinching the match on the 17th green to earn her 11th club championship (women’s: 2008-09, 2011-13, 2016, 2018; women’s senior: 2020-21, 2023).
Steadman’s path to the title included an 8 and 6 win over Taj Tillah and a semifinal victory against Amy Leveroni, in which she pulled away by winning four of five holes starting at hole No. 11.
Parker entered the final round of her nine-hole match five shots off the lead, but stayed focused and caught up. Tied with Traci Howe on the 18th tee, Parker overcame a fairway bunker shot to hold on for the win — her second title, adding to her 2023 triumph.
