In an effort to promote health and wellness, the Marblehead Counseling Center has announced a T-shirt contest for students in grades 7 through 12 to design a graphic or logo that shows what they believe community wellness looks like.
In honor of 55 years of the Counseling Center, a Community Wellness Day will be held on June 22 at Hobbs Playground from 1 to 4 p.m. At the event, the T-shirts featuring the winning graphic will be on sale. Entries for the contest are due by Friday, May 31. The winner will be announced on June 10, two weeks before the Community Wellness Day.
The logo should be a single color. Contestants must additionally include a short write-up explaining the design. Graphics can be sent to lcohen@marbleheadcounseling.org.
According to a statement, the day “celebrates the Counseling Center’s 55 years of offering expansive mental-health and social services for Marblehead and aims to reach additional members of the community, especially children and young adults who are reporting more mental, social, and emotional health issues than ever before.”
Marblehead Counseling Center Board of Directors President Ruth Ferguson said the contest serves as an opportunity to engage students in the benefits of counseling and overall wellness.
“As we celebrate May as Mental Health Awareness Month and gear up for our first Community Wellness Day in June, we thought a contest for high-school and middle-school students would be a great way to include young people and share with them some of the offerings and services of the Counseling Center,” Ferguson said.
