$5,750,000 Mary Alley renovation OK’d

The fourth and final article passed Tuesday night at Town Meeting was Article 33, which was to see if the Town will vote to "appropriate a sum of money to pay costs of design, construction, repair, renovation, furnishing and equipping of the Mary A. Town Meeting night 1 postponed

After what started as a 30 minute delay in Town Meeting Monday due to technical and capacity issues, Moderator Jack Attridge took the stage to ask for a motion to reconvene Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Marblehead High School Field House, which quickly passed. Despite attempts to indefinitely postpone the vote on Article 23 and amend its wording, the article which would amend the Town’s zoning bylaw to adopt 3A multi-family overlay districts passed with 951 out of 1,710 people voting in favor of it Tuesday night at Town Meeting.
