Quarterback Colt Wales and Crew Monaco connected for a 5-yard touchdown early in the second quarter. Marblehead took a 26-7 cushion into halftime, as Beverly’s 88-yard kick return ruined a shutout bid.
Bernardo Bannis and Breydan Callahan each found the promised land during the fourth quarter, putting a lid on the Panthers. Callahan’s 4-yard burst was his first touchdown at the varsity level.
With Peabody in town, Marblehead looks for a different outcome than last season, when the Tanners scored a 41-21 victory on their home turf. Peabody is ranked No. 8 in the Division 2 rankings with a 3-2 record.
