Marblehead Little Theatre (MLT) announced that tickets for their production of “Plaza Suite” by Neil Simon are now on sale. It will run from March 24 through April 2.

The cast will star real-life husband and wife Gary Ames and Stanis Ames who each have three roles in the play, according to a Feb.24 press release from MLT. Gary will play Sam Nash, Jesse Kiplinger, and Roy Hubley, while Stanis will play Karen Nash, Muriel Tate, and Norma Hubley.

The play will also feature Julia Arey in the roles of Jean McCormack and Mimsey Hubley; Jacob DeFillipo as Bellhop and Borden Eisler; and Mark Rolli as Waiter.

The production is being produced by Emily Black, directed by Steve Black, and assistant directed by Katie Meuse.

“Plaza Suite” follows three couples who are staying in a suite at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.

“A suburban couple takes the suite while their house is being painted and it turns out to be the one in which they honeymooned 23 (or was it 24?) years before,” the press release said. “Was yesterday the anniversary, or is it today?”

Then, a Hollywood producer who has gone through three marriages stays at the suite while he is “looking for fresh fields.”

“He calls a childhood sweetheart, now a suburban housewife, for a little diversion,” the press release said. “Over the years she has idolized him from afar and is now more than the match he bargained for.”

The third couple, a mother and father, are trying to decide how to “get their daughter out of the bathroom and down to the ballroom to get married, and hilarity ensues.”

Tickets for MLT’s “Plaza Suite” can be purchased at mltlive.org.

MLT has been around since 1955 and was created by members of the Marblehead Women’s Club.

“The award-winning Marblehead Little Theatre is one of the oldest community theater groups in New England, having consistently presented live-theater productions for over six decades,” the press release said.
