Saturday, June 1 marks the beginning of Pride Month, and the town is preparing to hold a number of festivities to kick off the celebrations over the weekend.
Marblehead’s first-ever Pride flag-raising took place on June 3 last year, and this year’s ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 1, beginning at 3 p.m. outside of Abbot Hall. The flag-raising will take place rain or shine, featuring an ice-cream truck, activities for kids, and speakers from the community.
The following day on Sunday, June 2, the Beacon Restaurant will continue the celebration with a Pride Party from 5 to 9 p.m., featuring food, drinks, and music.
