Plants for sale
The Marblehead Garden Club will be holding its 92nd annual plant sale on Saturday, May 20. The sale will take place from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in the lower gardens of the Jeremiah Lee Mansion, located at 161 Washington St. Available for sale will be some plants from the garden itself as well as those from members’ own gardens. Flowers available for sale include wildflowers, perennials, annuals, herbs, rock-garden plants and ground-cover plants. Members of the Garden Club will be in attendance to offer flower and gardening tips and answer questions.
Scholarships for democratic scholars
On Monday, May 22, the Marblehead Democratic Committee will be honoring Marblehead High School Democrats who will be receiving the Edwin L. Goldberg and Selma L. Goldberg scholarships. Taking place at 7 p.m. at the Jacobi Community Center, guests at the event will include the Marblehead High School Dems, the Yes Committee for the Marblehead override, and a representative from Rep. Seth Moulton’s campaign.
Teen de-stressing
Stop by Abbot Hall on Tuesday, May 23, for some mindful crafting to get your mind off of school, current events, or even just life in general. The session will take place from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Teens attending will be able to craft and decorate a mini journal, make a stress ball, or make something of their own creation. Registration is not required.
Infant CPR Training
Marblehead Parenting will be holding a class involving life-saving methods for choking and infant CPR on Tuesday, May 23, at 7 p.m. at 40 Tioga Way. Taught by Lauren Daniels, new parents will learn about topics like basic car safety, and home safety such as child proofing, safe sleep, and basic first aid. The classes will give parents hands-on instruction and are intentionally kept small to allow for personal attention and questions to be asked and answered.
