Welcome to the Symbiocene

On Saturday, Sept. 2, join ARTI Gallery for the opening of Welcome to the Symbiocene, an exhibition of artwork done by artists who draw inspiration from environmental justice. Paint for Maui

Creative Spirit and MacRae’s Sustainable Goods will be holding a paint night on Thursday, Sept. 7, with all proceeds benefiting the Maui Strong Fund to help those who have been affected by the Maui wildfires. The event will begin at 6 p.m., when Peyton will lead attendees through a step-by-step lesson on how to create the sunset and sea with Sharpies and watercolor.

September Soiree

The Marblehead Museum will be holding its second annual September Soiree: End of Summer Speakeasy event at the Lee Mansion Gardens on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 6-10 p.m. The event will kick off with a performance by Jazz duo the Rubin Brothers, along with specialty 1920s-themed cocktails, a full bar, and delicious food. Attendees can take pictures in a photo booth on-site and win a variety of prizes from the balloon pop. As the evening continues, attendees can dance to the music of the Johnny Ray Band as well as enjoy more drinks and desserts. Festive 1920s cocktail attire is encouraged. Church of St. Andrew 100th anniversary celebration 

In honor of it’s centennial anniversary, the Church of St. Andrew will be holding a special church service and picnic on Sunday, Sept. 10. The special church service will begin at 10 a.m., with the picnic beginning roughly an hour later at 11 a.m. All are invited to attend the services and the picnic, which will take place on the parish’s new plaza. A performance by folk and rock band The Morrison Meows will take place along with activities for children, including a bouncy house and face-painting. Terry’s Ice Cream will also be on-site to provide cold treats.
