Secret Heroines – The Revolution
Cheryl Bartlam du Bois and Debra Ann Pawlak will discuss their two most recent books focusing on the early years of the American Revolution in New England. Featured will be Marblehead’s own Brigadier General John Glover—a valiant hero of the Revolutionary War, as well as his brave men known as the Marbleheaders— considered the Army’s first integrated troop. Also, discover the world of Moll Pitcher, the great psychic of Lynn, Massachusetts and contemporary of John Glover. The event location is Marblehead Arts Association.
Saturday, Aug. 17, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Marblehead Museum Treasure Sale
The Marblehead Museum hosts a new version of its annual Treasure Sale. Check out a curated sale of vintage, antique, and collectible items, including books, small furniture, lighting, jewelry, artwork, maps, ceramics, vintage household items, clothes, and accessories.
Sunday, Aug. 18, 3:30 – 5 p.m. Marblehead Poet’s Meetup
This group is open to any writer regardless of genre from any community. Participants are encouraged to bring copies of things you want feedback on and anything that has been inspiring you lately. The Meetup gathers at Marblehead Arts Association in the garden.
Monday, Sept. 2 – The Walk-Talk Collective
A new kind of walking group dedicated to walking and talking about what’s weighing on our mental health. First walk is Sept. 2nd (rain or shine) from 6:30 – 7:30 a.m. at the Village School Track, 93 Village St.
