Feb. 7, 6:30 – 8 p.m. Harnessing Creativity to Combat Climate Change

As Marblehead and communities around the globe experience the real-life impacts of a changing climate, join us for a program on Feb. 7 that focuses on creating a more sustainable world through human creativity and social change. Hear how the Peabody Essex Museum and Climate Culture Boston are harnessing the power of creativity and social change to impact the climate crisis. Location: 135 Lafayette St.

Feb. 7, 7 – 8:30 p.m. Round the World Racing Aboard Gryphon2

Joe Harris grew up sailing on Long Island Sound, and eventually competed in long-distance races where he won the Transat Jacques Vabre and Bermuda 1-2 races in his Open 50. In 2015, Harris raced solo, around the world, non-stop, by way of the three great capes. In 2022-23, Harris competed in Globe 40 Round-the-World race in his Class 40 GryphonSolo2. Harris and his partner Roger Junet finished fourth and covered more than 36,000 nautical miles in eight months. Harris is pleased to present a multimedia presentation describing his sailing career and both RTW voyage. Free event and open to the public at Marblehead Yacht Club.

Feb. 10, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Indoor Sidewalk Sale

Feb. 10, 7 p.m. Rhapsody at 100

Join Our Lady Star of the Sea for what is sure to be one of the most exciting musical events on the North Shore this year. Matthew Arnold leads his big band, the New England Yankees, in a tribute to two giants of the Jazz Age, George Gerswhin and Paul Whiteman, a collaboration which created some of the most iconic and memorable music of the 1920s and ’30s. Tickets can be purchased online at Eventbrite for $20 plus fees, at the Star of the Sea Rectory anytime, or at the door for $20 (cash only).
