The Crucible
“The Crucible” by American playwright Arthur Miller centers on the Salem witch trials of 1692, during which a group of girls accused local citizens of witchcraft. Soon, others join these accusers. This hysteria is fueled by personal grudges, social inequities, and a palpable belief that the devil was real. The play is a powerful exploration of that story and the relationships among the characters. But it also serves as an allegory for “witch hunts” occurring at any time or place. The Crucible also has showtimes from Oct. 10-12 and Oct. 17–19 at Marblehead Little Theatre.

And much like the artists who have influenced him, everyone from Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon to the singer-songwriter who is undoubtedly his greatest inspiration, Woody Guthrie, Paul weaves deeply personal experiences with social issues and renders them as provocative works that are as timely as they are timeless. He has, so far, recorded 23 albums. Join Me&Thee Music for a night of music. The concert starts at 8 p.m.
