FUNdraiser to Help Keep the “Art-Beat” Strong
The evening will include a performance by the North Shore’s hottest improv comedy troupe, Accidentally on Purpose, as well as a Silent Auction to raise money for the Marblehead Arts Association’s future exhibits, performances, workshops, and programming. The Silent Auction will feature an amazing selection of items generously donated by the Peabody Essex Museum, BLICK Art Materials, The Mai Tai Lounge, and more.

Lee Mansion Ghost Investigation

Join the team from Boston Paranormal Investigations on an authentic ghost hunt through the Jeremiah Lee Mansion. They’ll show you the tools they use to investigate and talk with ghosts! Find out who may haunt one of Marblehead’s most historic structures. The investigation will be offered on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m.

Erin Pelikhov choreographed “Something Rotten” at MLT this past June, and has had many roles on stage and backstage at MLT, and beyond. Most notable was her featured tap role for five years in Boston’s “Urban Nutcracker.”

Memento Morrie Book Talk & Signing

Heather Pillar will talk about her collaboration with Morrie and her approach to photographing very personal moments. Everyone around Morrie learned from his wisdom. Spending time with Morrie impacted Heather’s life and she will share what she learned. Location: Marblehead Arts Association, 8 Hooper St.
Music in the Garden: Man on Land

On Sunday, listen to music in the garden at 10 Central St. The garden has shaded seating, chairs are supplied. Reserved seating insures your location for a season of joy. Family area. You can appear before 2 p.m. and take your chances with seating… Bring beverages and nibbles. Leave a note in the mailbox at 10 Central, telling Margi your dates and the number of people in your party, check or cash. Bring cash if appearing on the concert day. Tween yoga is designed for ages 7 through 11. This hour long practice will include asana, mindfulness, and an introduction to meditation. Classes will focus on movement and alignment in a safe and friendly environment at The Yoga Loft.
Jewelry Basics: Making Earrings
6 – 8 p.m.
Learn how to make simple drop earrings with wire wrapped loops, how to wrap a briollette and other elemental earring making skills with Eos Designs Studio. Advanced students will be given more challenging projects. Students will make multiple pairs of earrings and will learn about the tools and findings that work best. $24-plus materials.

Join author Barbara Berenson for a talk on her book Massachusetts in the Women’s Suffrage Movement. Massachusetts was at the center of the national struggle for women’s rights. Activists from the Boston-based American Women’s Suffrage Association led campaigns across the state, but they met with fierce opposition from men opposed to the idea of women taking their rightful place in public life. Barbara Berenson, a professor at Harvard Law School, gives these revolutionary reformers the attention they deserve.

Marblehead Conservancy: Wildflower Project at Lead Mills

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, the Marblehead Conservancy will present an update on the wildflower project at Lead Mills. Join in person at the library or online via Zoom. The Marblehead Conservancy has embarked on a project at Lead Mills to enhance and continue ongoing restoration work. In 2012, the Town of Marblehead and City of Salem acquired this 4-plus acre property which had previously been the site of multiple lead-using facilities, rescuing it from commercial and residential development. Since 2020, the Conservancy has centered their goals on creating habitat for underserved native pollinators experiencing population decline due to dwindling habitat. This talk will discuss the decisions the Conservancy has made, challenges to their mission, and progress made at Lead Mills in further detail.
