SUP Family Shabbat 2024
Join the JCCNS at Riverhead Beach in Marblehead for a Shabbat celebration and stand-up paddleboarding with SUP East Coast Style! Adults and children ages 3 and up can paddleboard in Marblehead Harbor from 4 to 5:30 p.m. No experience necessary! (An adult is not required to participate with children but is required to stay on the beach while children are paddling.) Children younger than 3 or those not paddleboarding are invited to hang out on the beach. Shabbat and pizza dinner to follow.

Jeremiah Lee’s Secret Revolution – A Walking Tour
Join Judy Anderson for an outdoor walking tour about Colonel Jeremiah Lee’s risky, secret, and ultimately fatal activities during a tumultuous year from June 1774 until his death in May 1775. Rebel American colonists, including Col. Lee, began taking daring and dangerous actions while rebelling against England. Any of Lee’s actions could have sent him to prison, or worse. The tours will meet on Friday, Sept. 6, at 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person.

Sacred Mediumship

The Marblehead Farmers’ Market is every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon through Nov. 23. Shop a variety of locally grown produce and flowers, herbs, meats, cheeses, homemade foods (muffins, scones, pies, breads, jams, jellies, pickles, prepared meals, etc.), and craft vendors selling items such as pottery, fine art, handbags, dog biscuits, jewelry, etc. Location: Marblehead Veterans Middle School, 217 Pleasant St. – Enter from Vine St.

On the Trail of Your Family Roots (WAITLIST ONLY)
Starting Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., join Linda B. MacIver as she leads a six-week course where patrons will learn how to gather and organize historical materials and search online genealogy and biography tools and resources accessible through Abbot Public Library, Boston Public Library, and various databases, vital records, and local newspapers. Participants will apply their new research skills to discover the names, dates, and places of their family’s origins, and an entire class will be dedicated to finding immigrant ancestors and learning about naturalization. At the end of the course, participants will display the culmination of their findings and learn how to continue research on their own. Hosted by Abbot Public Library.
