Bill Willis is a founding agent of Compass Real Estate’s Marblehead office. He started in a family construction business, which led to working with buyers and sellers to fix up houses and flip them. When the market dynamic shifted, he decided it was a good time to become a licensed realtor.
LISTENING: “We have a family chat (that now extends to spouses). I get made fun of but actually love folk. My youngest, Emily, made me a ‘Folk for Dad’ playlist. It’s a two-hour loop and I just keep it going. It includes: Ocie Elliott, Caamp, Noah Kahan, and Carly King. I also listen to podcasts, typically on long car rides: ‘How I Built This’ and AI downloads.”
WATCHING: “After refusing to watch ‘Ted Lasso’ based on its far-fetched premise… I then binged it back-to-back with my wife, Marty. Also watched ‘Tour de France Unchained’ (Netflix), and ‘Quarterback,’ also on Netflix — it’s the behind-the-scenes of three quarterbacks — not Patriots!”
READING: “I tend to go down rabbit holes with my reading. I’m intrigued by near-death experiences — a portal into being more spiritual. I am reading ‘Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife’ by Eben Alexander. I find this subject fascinating because it touches all walks of life, all cultures, all over the world. This has opened the door to spirituality for me because I think it’s good to believe there is a greater source and that we are all actually really similar. It leads me to be able to connect with people one-on-one.”
SOMETHING PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU OR YOUR CAREER: “Our entire family of five rides the 200-mile Pan-Mass Challenge together. It’s a cool thing that we do as a family.”
WHAT YOU ENJOY ABOUT MARBLEHEAD: “I believe Marblehead has a soul as a community, and there are strong undercurrents of goodwill.”
