INTERVIEWED: Evan Madoff
OCCUPATION: Owner Evan’s New York Style Deli
LISTENING: I’m pretty much ‘old school.’ Don’t like today’s music…So when I’m in the car and especially when I’m prepping – I listen to (playlist or 105.7 radio) – Jimmy Buffet, Greatful Dead, Crosby, Stills, & Nash , Neil Young, John Denver, Chad Daniels.
WATCHING: Not a lot – I have no time plus I have a 10 year old. If I do – Blue Bloods and NCIS Original.
READING: No time, and I’m really not a reader.
SOMETHING PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU OR OUR CAREER: I graduated from Marblehead High in ’84, and won the 12th Player Award for football, Senior Year. I played middle linebacker and right guard…mostly right guard. I worked for Michael’s Deli right out of school and then moved to Manhattan for 17 years, worked in different industries. In the last one I was a traveling salesman selling Swiss watches – until the economy tanked. I needed a job I could do – I was tired of corporate Manhattan, and liked being my own boss so I moved to Marblehead.
WHAT YOU ENJOY ABOUT MARBLEHEAD: The architecture, history, convenience of being on the water. Two hours to the mountain to snowboard, near a major airport. You need to leave to appreciate what you have here. There’s no place like this. And it’s a safe place to raise kids.
WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT MARBLEHEAD:
Nothing – it’s a quaint, cozy town!
