INTERVIEWED: Frank McCarthy of Marblehead Cycle.
LISTENING: Podcasts — I’ve been in a lull, but always an hour of news in the morning. Always start with NPR first, and maybe Gas Co for business practices and corporate trends. Music — Been on a classical kick… My best friend’s wife is in the Cambridge Classical Orchestra, so I’ve listened to Verdi’s Requiem… Goosebumps… 100-piece-plus orchestra, opera… Also on a punk rock kick — Petey — He’s fun, I actually found out about him on Instagram during the pandemic.
WATCHING: “Julia” (on Amazon Prime). It follows Julia Child. Neat to see her origins. As a kid, I got to see her kitchen on exhibit. Julia Child was very influential on my mom, she wanted us all to cook.
READING: I’m making my way through “Lynsey Addario’s It’s What I Do: A Photographer’s Life of Love and War.” She’s a war correspondent and photographer, and as an amateur photographer I love following her.
SOMETHING PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU OR YOUR CAREER: I horseback rode and competed in three-phase eventing — dressage, cross country, and stadium jumping. I miss it. It was at PineTree in Beverly. My dad did their electrical work and I landscaped for trade.
WHAT YOU ENJOY ABOUT MARBLEHEAD: Ah, so much. I love the charm. It really feels like a great town to show people. It’s pristine. Love to sprinkle in a little history facts, Love walking to the water. And it’s near everything!
