Melissa Maitland is the assistant director of Amy’s Cozy Corner, Amy Panagakis’ daycare since the 1990s. Maitland decided she wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps by becoming a teacher after spending a lot of time playing with the kids at the daycare when she was younger.
LISTENING: “Pretty easy — I listen to anything, Pandora, whatever’s on.”
WATCHING: “Law shows and crimes shows, and documentaries.”
READING: “Not right now… I do read. I typically am up for anything. I look at the cover and see if it catches my eye, whether fiction or nonfiction.”
SOMETHING PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU OR YOUR CAREER: “I used to run a lot of 10Ks and half marathons. I also used to ski as well. But I’m taking time off now to be pregnant!”
WHAT YOU ENJOY ABOUT MARBLEHEAD: “I used to live here for 11 years. People are very nice and welcoming. It’s a small town so you kind of know everybody. It just works as a community.”
