Marblehead’s girls basketball team fell at home, 43-39, against Notre Dame (Hingham) despite a strong performance from Greta Sachs, who recorded a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks. Ainsley MacDonald scored nine points, while Carys Moran added four. Tessa Andriano finished with five points and seven rebounds.

Despite solid outings from Peabody’s Thad Broughton (10 points), Mark Mendonca (10), Dom Domenici (6), and Jack Smith (5), the Tanners had little answers for Marblehead’s high-powered offense and dipped to 1-6. The Magicians were led by Finn Baron’s 20 points.
WRESTLING
At Saturday’s annual Daniel Gionet Memorial Tournament at Pelham High, the Black and Blue finished fourth, narrowly missing the top three by six team points.
“Considering our youth, this was a good finish for us,” said Marblehead/Swampscott coach Michael Stamison.
