The Marblehead Speakers Series welcomes everyone to the next event on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. We’re delighted to welcome Dave Rodgers, a lifelong Marblehead resident who has served as Marblehead’s veteran agent since 1999.
Rodgers will explain how he pioneered his role and the enjoyment he’s experienced in service to others. Veterans are eligible for a variety of benefits, and Rodgers has helped many over the years. With retirement approaching, he plans to spend more time on his lobster boat along with his wife, Anne.
“These people who come in, they signed a blank check for our nation,” Rodgers said.
The Marblehead Speakers Series produces educational events quarterly at the Council On Aging. Its planning committee is a group of senior volunteers who are interested in a variety of topics. Recent programs include A Funny Thing Happened on the Campaign Trail, Wildlife: Caught on Camera, and Marblehead, A World Renowned Sailing Center. We are thankful for the continuing sponsorship from All Care.
“Many Marbleheaders have listened to Dave as he chairs the Memorial Day ceremonies or Veterans Day celebrations. We’re looking forward to hearing from this man who has done so much for so many, in a less formal environment,” Michael Thompson said.
The is a free event, open to the public. We are requesting attendees sign up at https://www.marblehead.org/council-aging-department. For more information, contact Thompson at 781-367-4952.
