Boys, girls settle for third place

DANVERS — Danvers High welcomed the best of the best for the Northeastern Conference outdoor championships last Friday. Marblehead’s girls finished third with 104.5 points – behind first-place Peabody and Masconomet – while the boys (95 points) tied for third place with Beverly. Peabody captured first place there as well, with Masconomet close behind.

BOYS

Jacob Szalewicz won the 800m with a time of 1:55.60, while Henrik Adams clocked in at fourth in 2:01.12. Will Cerrutti won the mile with a time of 4:27.94. Nate Assa won the 2-mile in 9:13.36.

Cerrutti, Adams, Assa, and Szalewicz took first in the 4×800 relay (8:16.32). Eben Weed, Colin Hart, Jack Franklin, and Noah Jackson took second in the 4×400 relay (3:44.93).

Ryan Corrigan (5th) and Jacob Bobowski (6th) finished back-to-back in the 100m with times of 11.67 and 11.81, respectively. Jackson finished fourth in both the 110m hurdles (16.48) and 400m hurdles (59.67). Alexander Humphreys placed third in javelin (137-11). Clark Roszell finished fifth in high jump (5-08).

GIRLS

Paige Tredwell finished first in the 100m hurdles (15.68), second in high jump (5-00), and fourth in long jump (16-07). Norah Walsh, Marion Grace Ladouceur, Marrietta O’Connell, and Geneva Becker placed first in the 4×800 relay (10:42.47).

Lucy Flynn took second in the 100m (12.78) and third in the 200m (26.29). Sarah Munroe placed second in the 800m (2:24.91) with Walsh (2:31.99) following in fourth. O’Connell placed third in the mile (5:41.00) and second in the 2-mile (11:35.18), while Lillian Reddy placed third in shot put (30-11).

Gabrielle Hendy, Liv Carlson, Munroe, and Walsh took fifth in the 4×400 relay (4:24.54), while Elise Burchfield finished fifth in long jump (16-06.50).
