The New England Couple Josh and Steph Caron. (Steph Caron)

Influencers crown Little Harbor Lobster Co. as North Shore’s top lobster roll

August 6, 2025 by Erell Renaudeau

The New England Couple, two local influencers recommending prime spots and finds in New England, reviewed Marblehead’s Little Harbor Lobster Co. and voted it their number one lobster roll on the North Shore.

High praise from a couple who eat “a ton” of lobster rolls. Little Harbor Lobster Co. was probably their thirteenth lobster roll try in the area, Steph Caron said.

“Oh my god,” she said. “It was the most tender, sweet lobster roll.”

Steph and her partner, Josh, met when she was still a therapist, and he was a professional poker player. Both streamers, on their own time, started featuring small businesses and people from New England — the local gems they thought people would resonate with.

“We got bored because everyone’s like, there’s nothing to do in New England,” Steph explained. “We were like, that’s not true!” So they put their tourist hats on and re-claimed the area, differently, as if they didn’t know it already.

And they have grown quickly, reaching 400,000 followers on their platforms after just a year and a half in business.

“For food and atmosphere, Marblehead is beautiful,” Steph said. “It’s like a warm hug, you know?”

The Little Harbor Lobster Co. is a family-owned seafood market overlooking Little Harbor, the site of the first fishing station in Marblehead. Steph commented on their cute tables and chairs outside, as well as their rolls (“literally perfect”).

“And I have no stake in it,” Steph laughed.

Coming from Connecticut, where buns are always hot, she was surprised to find that the restaurant kept them cool, at room temperature, to then poured butter atop. Steph speculates that the reason is to avoid any sogginess–a good technique, she said with a laugh, that she now wholeheartedly accepts.

Steph also recommended other singular spots in Marblehead. Fort Sewall was a must do for its singular 19th century history, where, in 1814, the U.S. Navy’s Constitution sought refuge from British frigates under the fort’s guns. Or Thai restaurants like the Mai Thai Lounge on Pleasant St. –“very vibey, very delicious.” And she could have gone on.

She and Josh recently launched a blog so that people could follow them in real time. After spending some time in Newport, RI, this week, they may soon be taking a road trip down the East Coast–“I hate flying”– perhaps down to Florida.

“We’re everywhere, all the time,” Steph said. “And we have a huge passion for New England.”
