Police Logs May 21 – 27

Tuesday, May 27

Alarms

A burglar alarm on Village Street was reported at 5:44 a.m. Officers checked the premises and determined it was a false alarm. Another alarm on Ocean Avenue was also reported at 6:08 p.m. and was found to be a false alarm as well.

Assist Citizens

Officers assisted multiple residents with various concerns, including a resident who needed help at Ocean Avenue. In one case, a citizen required assistance at High Street in the evening, with a report taken for further documentation.

Building and Property Checks

Officers conducted building and property checks at locations including Atlantic Avenue, Community Road, Ocean Avenue, Access Road and Stramski Way. All properties were found to be secure and no suspicious activity was observed.

Complaints

Officers responded to general complaints at locations including Humphrey Street and Clifton Avenue. Officers spoke with the involved parties and the issues were resolved without further action. Another complaint at Atlantic Avenue at 9:33 p.m. was investigated and found to be unfounded.

Disturbances

A disturbance was reported on Whittier Road at 11:07 p.m. Officers arrived and resolved the issue, restoring peace in the neighborhood.

Found/Lost Property

A set of lost property was reported and turned in on Brook Road. Officers secured the property for retrieval by the owner.

Motor Vehicle Stops

Officers conducted several traffic stops throughout the day for various motor vehicle violations, including one on Smith Street and Pleasant Street at 5:44 p.m., resulting in a citation issued.

Motor Vehicle Crashes

Several motor vehicle crashes occurred during the day, including a two-vehicle crash at Pleasant Street and Marion Road at 1:14 p.m. resulting in a report taken. Another crash at Hawkes Street and Washington Street at 5:44 p.m. required medical response and a report was also taken.

Public Works and Utility Issues

Officers responded to issues involving downed tree limbs and utility problems on streets including Green Street, Arlyn Road and Sagamore Road. In each case, the Department of Public Works or other agencies were notified to resolve the issues.

Solicitors

Officers investigated a report of solicitors on Bayview Road at 6:23 p.m. but could not locate any individuals matching the description provided.

Unfounded Reports

Officers investigated reports of suspicious activity and disturbances on Atlantic Avenue, Rockaway Avenue and Jane Road throughout the day, but none were confirmed upon arrival.

Monday, May 26

Complaints
Officers responded to general complaints throughout the day, including an incident at Humphrey Street and Tufts Street and another on Washington Street. A report was also taken for a complaint on Pond Street. Additional complaints were addressed on Countryside Lane.

Disturbances
At 7:19 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance on Hillside Avenue and rendered services. Later in the evening, officers investigated a disturbance on Pleasant Street but could not locate any issues. Another disturbance was resolved at 9 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue.

911 Hang-ups
A 911 hang-up was investigated on Pleasant Street at 11:06 a.m. No emergency was found.

Found/Lost Property
At 1:03 p.m., officers responded to a report of found or lost property on Gerry Street and provided assistance.

Motor Vehicle Stops
A traffic stop at Pleasant Street and Rowland Street at 6:38 p.m. resulted in a citation issued.

Property Checks
Officers conducted property checks throughout the day at locations including Atlantic Avenue, Community Road, Village Street and Lighthouse Lane. All properties were secure or no issues were found.

Public Events
A cannon fire permit was granted at Fort Sewall Lane at noon. No further action was needed.

Sunday, May 25

Alarms
Officers responded to a false burglar alarm on Front Street at 5:08 p.m. Another alarm on the same street at 6:44 p.m. was found to be secure.

Animal Control
There were no animal control incidents reported for this day.

Assist Citizens
At 10:35 a.m., officers assisted a citizen on Clifton Avenue, with a report taken for further documentation.

Disturbances
A group of kids was reported to be causing a disturbance on Humphrey Street at 10:52 p.m., but officers were unable to locate them.

Erratic Operation
Officers addressed a report of erratic vehicle operation near West Shore Drive and Jersey Street at 4:15 p.m.

Motor Vehicle Stops
A motor vehicle stop at Manley Street and Ocean Avenue at 8:06 p.m. resulted in a verbal warning. Another stop at Pickwick Road and Brook Road at 11:14 p.m. resulted in the arrest of David L. Bartram, 56, of Marblehead, for operating under the influence, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage and possession of an open container of alcohol.

Motor Vehicle Accidents
A motor vehicle accident at Atlantic Avenue at 12:48 p.m. resulted in a report taken. A second accident at Pickwick Road and Brook Road was associated with the arrest of David L. Bartram.

Property Checks
Officers conducted property checks throughout the day at various locations, including Community Road, Atlantic Avenue, Pleasant Street, Bessom Street and Stramski Way. All properties were secure with no issues found.

Public Complaints
Officers responded to several general complaints, including incidents on Atlantic Avenue, Ocean Avenue, Countryside Lane and other locations. One of these incidents resulted in a citation issued on Ocean Avenue at 10:04 p.m.

Unfounded Reports
A report of a large group of kids on Humphrey Street at 10:52 p.m. was deemed unfounded after officers could not locate the group.

Saturday, May 24

Alarms
A burglar alarm was investigated on Washington Street at 9:57 a.m. Officers determined there was no threat and secured the property.

Assist Citizens
Throughout the day, officers assisted residents with various concerns, including help on West Shore Drive, Blaney Circle and Lafayette Street. Officers also assisted with a notary service on Chestnut Street.

Complaints
Officers responded to complaints on Creesy Street, East Orchard Street, Pitman Road and West Shore Drive, Lincoln Avenue and Ocean Avenue. These included noise, suspicious activity and general disturbances.

Disturbances
A disturbance reported on Dodge Road at 1:09 a.m. was investigated, but officers could not locate any issues.

Found/Lost Property
Officers addressed reports of found or lost property throughout the town, including on Gerry Street, Pleasant Street and Front Street.

Larceny/Forgery/Fraud
A report of larceny, forgery or fraud was taken on Hewitt Street at 11:36 a.m.

Motor Vehicle Stops
Officers conducted several motor vehicle stops, issuing verbal warnings at locations including Humphrey Street, Thompson Road and Sheldon Road. A citation was issued at Lafayette Street and Widger Road at 10:10 a.m.

Motor Vehicle Crashes
Officers responded to motor vehicle crashes, including an incident on Foster Street at 9:37 p.m.

Property Checks
Officers performed property checks throughout the day at various locations, including Pleasant Street, Atlantic Avenue, Community Road, Bessom Street, Stramski Way and Lighthouse Lane. All properties were secure with no issues found.

Public Complaints
In addition to complaints mentioned above, officers responded to a general complaint on Pequod Road at 7:34 p.m., resulting in a report.

Friday, May 23

Assist Citizens
Officers assisted several residents throughout the day, including on Pleasant Street, State Street and Smith Street. Assistance was also provided during a temple detail on Atlantic Avenue in the evening.

Complaints
Officers addressed multiple complaints, including noise, suspicious activity and general disturbances. These occurred on streets such as Brown Street, Rockaway Avenue, Rainbow Road and Smith Street and Atlantic Avenue.

Disturbances
A disturbance was reported at Dodge Road at 10:46 p.m., but it was deemed unfounded after officers investigated.

Erratic Operation
Officers responded to reports of erratic vehicle operation on Rainbow Road at 6:51 p.m.

Found/Lost Property
Reports of found or lost property were addressed throughout the day, including incidents on Gerry Street and Pleasant Street.

Larceny/Forgery/Fraud
Officers took reports and investigated incidents of larceny, forgery and fraud, including incidents on Rose Avenue, Pleasant Street and Smith Street.

Motor Vehicle Stops
Officers conducted multiple motor vehicle stops, issuing verbal warnings on Pleasant Street and citations on Atlantic Avenue.

Motor Vehicle Complaints
Officers investigated motor vehicle complaints throughout the day, including near Humphrey Street and Maple Street.

Property Checks
Officers performed property checks at various locations, including Community Road, Atlantic Avenue and Stramski Way, ensuring everything was secure.

Public Complaints
General complaints were also reported and addressed on streets such as Rockaway Avenue, Smith Street and Atlantic Avenue.

Tree/Branch Down
Officers responded to reports of downed trees or branches on Ware Lane and Clifton Avenue. These incidents were either referred to another agency or services were rendered as needed.

Unfounded Reports
Several reports, including a disturbance on Dodge Road, were determined to be unfounded.

Thursday, May 22

Summonses
Officers served or attempted to serve summonses on Pleasant Street and Broughton Road.

Assist Citizens
Officers provided assistance to residents at several locations, including Ocean Avenue and Pleasant Street. No issues were reported beyond the assistance rendered.

Building and Property Checks
Officers conducted multiple property checks throughout the day at Community Road, Atlantic Avenue and West Shore Drive. All locations were secure.

Complaints
Officers responded to general complaints at Atlantic Avenue and Captains Walk Lane. Both incidents resulted in reports being filed. Another complaint was addressed at Sharon Road, which involved emergency medical services and was documented in a report.

Disturbances
A disturbance was reported on Sharon Road at 4:53 p.m. Officers and EMS responded and a report was taken for the incident.

Found/Lost Property
A report of lost or found property was addressed near Anderson Street.

Motor Vehicle Complaints
A moving motor vehicle complaint was investigated on Elm Street at 5:15 p.m. No further action was reported.

Public Works and Utility Issues
Officers responded to several calls involving fallen tree branches and utility issues. Incidents occurred on Arlyn Road, Sagamore Road and Pleasant Street. All matters were either handled directly or referred to the appropriate agency.

Wednesday, May 21

Alarms
A false burglar alarm was reported at Humphrey Street at 1:57 a.m. Officers secured the area and determined no threat.

Assist Citizens
Throughout the day, officers assisted residents on Pleasant Street, Tioga Way and Orne Street, as well as with lost property incidents and general information.

Building and Property Checks
Officers conducted numerous property checks at locations including Stramski Way, Pleasant Street, Atlantic Avenue, Lafayette Street and West Shore Drive. All properties were found secure.

Complaints
Officers responded to general complaints on Naugus Avenue and Rockaway Avenue. The latter was investigated at 10:45 p.m. but no issue was found.

Disturbances
A disturbance was reported on Jane Road at 11:09 p.m. but officers could not locate any parties involved.

Found/Lost Property
Found or lost property reports were addressed on Atlantic Avenue, Barnard Street, Creesy Street and Fairview Road.

Motor Vehicle Crashes
Two motor vehicle crashes were reported, one at Gregory Street and Lee Street at 8:31 a.m. and another at Atlantic Avenue at 8:46 a.m.

Motor Vehicle Complaints
A moving motor vehicle complaint was investigated on Orne Street and Beacon Street at 6:11 p.m. but no action was required.

Motor Vehicle Stops
Officers conducted several traffic stops throughout the day, including issuing a verbal warning at Pleasant Street at 9:19 p.m.

Public Works and Utility Issues
Officers responded to a hanging tree branch at Beacon Street and Whittier Road at 7 a.m. and other tree and utility issues throughout the day.

Unfounded Reports
Several calls for service, including complaints and disturbances on Rockaway Avenue, Jane Road and Rockcliff Road, were investigated and found to be unfounded.
