The Gerry 5 will be hosting the town’s first professional wrestling event March 21 from 7-10 p.m.
Former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler Parker Boudreaux will take on professional wrestler Colton Charles in the opening match, and there will be three other matches throughout the evening.
Wrestling Promoter and Royal Crown Wrestling Owner Jose Rodriguez said this opportunity came to be because he is always looking for venues that allow wrestling events.
“I really like throwing events in old halls and like old legions and stuff like that,” he said. “Those kinds of places are disappearing because developers are buying them and building condos on stuff like that, so I want to get to use as many of them as I can while they’re still around, and Gerry No. 5 is one of those places that has an old hall feel.”
Rodriguez added that spectators can expect live entertainment during the intermission, which isn’t typical for wrestling matches, as the Bomb Pack band will be performing. John Cena’s father, John Cena Sr., is also expected to make a guest appearance at the event.
Tickets range from $20-40 based on the viewing experience – $20 for standing room, $30 for general admission, and $40 for front row – and can be purchased online at royalcrownwrestling.com.
